About

Hi, I’m Megan—a registered nurse based in California with over a decade of diverse healthcare experience. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 2011 and have since worked in a variety of clinical settings, including medical-surgical nursing at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Loma Linda, home health care with Sutter in Placer and Sacramento Counties, in-patient case management at Sutter Roseville Medical Center, and as a school nurse in Placer County.

In 2020, I found my calling in diabetes care. While supporting children with type 1 diabetes in the school setting, I developed expertise in insulin pumps and continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Technology. This hands-on experience opened my eyes to the daily challenges faced by those living with diabetes. Around the same time, I witnessed family members struggling with blood sugar control and medication side effects related to type 2 diabetes. These personal and professional experiences fueled my passion to do more.

In early 2025, I founded Sugarwise Nursing, Inc., Diabetes Care and Education with a clear mission—to empower individuals living with diabetes to take control of their health through personalized education, one-on-one support, and real-time insights using CGM technology.

At Sugarwise, we believe that effective diabetes management starts with understanding each person’s unique story. Our goal is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care that encourages long-term lifestyle changes and smarter blood sugar management.

So glad you are here, we can’t wait to work with you.

Sugarwise Nursing Testimonials

As you read through these testimonials, I hope you get a feel for what it’s like to work with me one-on-one. These are real stories from people who were once in your shoes—curious, maybe a little overwhelmed, and looking for a better way to manage their health. With the help of continuous glucose monitoring and personalized support, they found clarity, control, and confidence in their health journey. I’m honored to have walked alongside them, and I’d be just as honored to support you too.

Terri in Auburn, CA

I appreciate Megan’s willingness to help me with my health journey. She was a wealth of information and easy to work with which allowed me the opportunity to lose weight and increase my energy. She guided me on which CGM to use, how to use the app, provided resources and spend time going over all my results. I loved learning about how my body reacts with certain foods, exercise, sleep and stress and what to modify for an improved quality of life. I highly recommend using a CGM and having Megan walk you through the process.

Dorothy in Rocklin, CA

Under Megan’s direction, I have learned at age 90 how to manage my blood glucose levels. With the use of a CGM I can now monitor my glucose level and take appropriate steps to avoid undesirable highs and lows. This has also allowed me to reduce my reliance on diabetic medications through relatively easy diet changes and mild exercise.

Rick in Rocklin, CA

Wearing a CGM from Stelo was so beneficial and fascinating to me. Seeing the immediate affects that different foods had on my blood sugar and how long the spikes would last really shocked me. Megan was very educational and helping in putting a plan together for me, to n ot only help increase stamina and energy for tournaments, but she also taught me by eating proteins or fats before eating carbs would help eliminate the big spikes in glucose. I appreciated how professional, encouraging, and caring Megan was throughout the monitoring process.
