A continuous glucose monitor, (CGM) is a wearable device, that is inserted right under the skin. It provides 24/7 data by measuring your body’s blood sugar. It measures glucose levels in the interstitial fluid, which is the fluid between the cells, instead of in the bloodstream. Using a CGM, allows you to capture what is going on with your body’s blood sugar in real-time and make informed decisions about your health.

- Does not require prescription from physician
- Not for patients that are insulin dependent, and must be 18 years or older
- HSA/FSA eligible

- Cost: one-time purchase for 2 sensor is $99, 1 month and 3 month subscription also offered
- Sensor wear duration is 15 days, +12 hour grace period

Dexcom G7
- Requires prescription from physician
- Designed for patients with all types of diabetes that are insulin dependent, or have episodes of hypoglycemia
- Alarms for low and high blood sugar
- Sensor wear time duration is 10 days, +12 hour grace period
- Cost varies depending on insurance coverage
